Refund Policy

30-day money-back guarantee on your first subscription. Cancel anytime to stop future renewals. Refunds are processed by Paddle, our payment provider.
1. 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
If you’re not satisfied with your first Echophrase subscription purchase (monthly or annual), you can request a full refund within 30 days of the purchase date.
You can request the refund directly from your Manage Subscription page (accessible from the Echophrase desktop app or via the link in your purchase receipt email). First-purchase refund requests within the 30-day window are approved automatically - no forms, no questions.
2. Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time:
- From the Echophrase desktop app → Settings → Account → Manage Subscription
- From your purchase receipt email → Click “Manage Subscription”
Cancelling stops future renewals. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which it will not renew and you will not be charged again.
You do not need to contact us to cancel.
3. Refunds on Renewals
Renewal charges (any charge after your initial purchase) are not automatically refundable. To avoid an unwanted renewal charge, please cancel your subscription before your next billing date.
If you were charged for a renewal you intended to cancel and contact us within 7 days of that renewal charge, we will work with you in good faith to resolve it - typically by issuing a refund or applying credit. Email [email protected].
4. Annual Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are eligible for the same 30-day money-back guarantee as monthly subscriptions on the first purchase.
After 30 days:
- Days 31–90: We may offer a prorated refund at our discretion for the unused portion of the billing period. Contact
[email protected]to request. - After day 90: Annual subscription fees are non-refundable, but you can cancel to prevent the next renewal.
5. Refund Method and Timing
All refunds are issued to the original payment method via Paddle, our payment processor and Merchant of Record. Once approved:
- Card refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days
- PayPal refunds typically appear within 3–5 business days
- Other payment methods may vary depending on the issuer
If you don’t see the refund after 10 business days, please contact us with your transaction reference number from your purchase receipt.
6. Exceptions
We reserve the right to deny refund requests in cases of:
- Suspected fraud or chargeback abuse
- Repeated refund requests on the same account or payment method
- Violations of our Terms of Service
- Refund requests outside the 30-day window for first purchases (subject to the prorated annual rules in Section 4)
Customers who have previously received a refund and re-subscribe may be subject to manual review for subsequent refund requests.
7. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer instead of requesting a refund through Echophrase, your account may be suspended pending resolution of the dispute. We strongly encourage you to contact us first - refunds are faster and don’t affect your account standing.
